The sparkling deep blue sky was scattered, as the sunlight was glistening giving a genial glow like fire. The feeling of peace and serenity over took Kimiko. She could hear the cries of the birds in the narrowing distance and the sound of the calm, still sea rippling its waves to and fro. The sky was an authentic natural blue-marine shade. Kimiko was dreaming vividly. She could not make sense of her surroundings. The dream kept fluctuating instantaneously; she was blistering hot and restless.
Kimiko then pictured herself gazing into her bathroom mirror and she could see herself staring back at her own reflection cautiously. She saw her eerie and mysterious looks when she was nineteen, tall, slim and stately. She had cinnamon-brown eyes and warm brown locks that cascaded down her rear in ravishing waves. Time had shifted swiftly but she remembered the day when everything had changed. Beginning at Shun Ku College in early September, Kimiko was a popular and bright girl. Everyone loved her. She was just an ordinary girl like everyone else.
It happened when Kimiko was rushing across the hallway accidentally colliding into someone. And fell on top of him. They exchanged glances, he was strong, tall and handsome his hair was dark and lustrous, his eyes were blue and clear like crystal raindrops he had a beige natural coloured tan just like cafi?? au lait and the glow of colour dusted in his slender cheeks. Kimiko became apologetic but he said, “No, its all-right, are you hurt? ” Kimiko replied reassuringly. “I’m the one who should be asking you if you’re hurt. ” He smiled at her.
She helped him onto his feet she asked him curiously; “I haven’t seen you around, what is your name? ” He replied, “Yukio. ” She smiled sweetly and said, “My names Kimiko,” then she walked off turning her head back to take a firm look at him… A Couple of week’s later; Kimiko was making her way outside the college gates towards the bus stop. She stood there frigid and desolate. Kimiko was shivering; as it was windy and cold; she pushed a stray wisp of chestnut coloured hair off her forehead and looked around the bus stop.
“I wish there was a telephone,” murmuring to herself. Well there isn’t, and its five miles to the nearest town,” Yukio said as he appeared unexpectedly. Kimiko looked startled. “It s all right,” he said. Yukio offered to carry her bags and he said, “Come on five miles isn’t so far. ” With one hand he picked up her bags and sluggishly started walking down the road. Before he heard the crunch of gravel she was following him. Kimiko sighed tolerantly. The one lane street was faint and deserted. It would have been pleasant being alone with him except she began to feel restless with every step; she was beginning to feel hungrier than she was before.
Just as she was going to ask him if they could take a short break, she heard a car coming from behind and the engine was very intense and emphatic. A car passed them; there was a rattling of gravel and it came to a sudden halt. There was a young boy peeping out of the window waving at Yukio. Kimiko looked at him intriguingly. He seemed about Yukio’s age and he was intensely suntanned. He was sitting in the driver’s seat and he had attractive blond hair.
They both steadily sat in the car. Yukio explained to Kimiko that it was his brother Tadashi. “Nice to meet you,” Tadashi said softly. So have you known Yukio for a long time? ” Tadashi also asked. She explained to Tadashi that they had incidentally met one time but she never got the opportunity to get to know Yukio properly. Yukio interrupted the conversation between Kimiko and Tadashi and says, “How about you stay at my place then I’ll drive you back home. ” Kimiko replied, “Sure! That will be fine. ” They finally arrived at Yukio’s house and Tadashi unloaded Kimiko’s bags out of the car boot and placed it in the wooden porch then said toYukio. “Do you want to take a walk? ” “Sure! ” he replied.
Kimiko was getting very excited but she noticed something weird about his eyes, they were brown. It was hard to remember. She thought that they looked brown at one point- when they were both at the bus stop. But the day she fell into him in the corridor his eyes were a serene blue colour. That was very strange. They both started walking every so often, She could sense his eyes looking at her; he then drew a deep breath as he was going to say something, but he kept his lips firmly pursed together. “You’re so beautiful, you know,” Yukio said suddenly. He was right in front of her.
She could almost feel the warmth of his breath on her delicate skin. He suddenly reached out his hand and ran his gentle fingers through her thick chestnut luscious locks. Yukio’s lips began to tremble and his voice becoming unsteady, “I thought that maybe after we met- maybe we could be together but do you know why I brought you here for? To the most deserted place I could find? ” “NO! ” She replied confused. He moved closer to her. The moonlight reflected in his eyes and his pupils emitted an evil emerald colour. Kimiko began to shudder; she felt his cold tender fingers rubbing against her smooth skin.
Kimiko began to regret going to the forest alone with him. Yukio began to draw open his jaw; Kimiko caught a glimpse of his burnished set of sharp canines. They were long and curved and his eyes became a wild slivery colour. Suddenly Yukio’s lips were attached onto her neck. She began to push him away . He was like one of those vampires in those fantasy books. Kimiko began to struggle and move away, he pinned her forcefully against the tree; he was much stronger and powerful than her. Suddenly everything became black and she was in agony because she could feel the lacerating pain in her neck.
She screamed despairingly … Horrified and disorientated Kimiko woke up, excessively sweating. She slowly began to open her eyes. The sun was shining around the edges of her dark blue curtains. Kimiko yawned and staggered into the bathroom. Thank god! That was only a dream she whispered to herself. She sat their confused and alone, looking at herself in the mirror, her own reflection, her crimson coloured eyes and her beautiful thick brown hair. All she could feel were the endless thoughts running through her head and all the vivid and wild images from the dream.
Everything was the same except for the discoloured scar on her neck. She sat there alarmed and in immense shock, it was only a dream. She ran her fingers along the purple bruise on her neck, feeling every part of it. Kimiko was horrified and shocked in disbelief, questions of doubt and curiosity were spirally her thoughts; she thought it was really odd, the way she abruptly dreamed about him. All she did was think of him, he was the only person on her mind constantly, and the constant dreams and the thoughts of him were non-stop. Kimiko could remember how he looked in her dreams.
He looked amazing his hair was matted dark as the midnight sky; his eyes were a tantalising deep blue shade just like the ocean. It was him, he was irresistible. Kimiko realised she was beginning to fall for him but she was still not sure about the way he would feel towards her. Kimiko aimlessly remembered the way he looked at her in the dream. His jaw steadily opened his teeth were long and beautifully curved, coming to feline points indenting into his lower lips. These images sent shivers down her back and made her quiver with uncertainty.
Kimiko began to become afraid of what was happening. The constant dreams she kept having of him were very disturbing and she had felt like he had this special type of connection with him. The day she went to meet Yukio at the canteen he looked at her with a hard long stare, from the corner of his eye. She looked at him for a while, hoping he wouldn’t notice her long steady gaze at him. When they both entered the canteen his fingers gently brushed against hers, she liked the feeling of it but he quickly moved them away from her. Kimiko became uneasy.
He stared at her hard then they went to sit down, Yukio sat opposite her, he looked down at his feet, Kimiko started to ask how he was and he replied back attentively that he had just caught up with exams that were happening next week, and he was tied up in his revision. Suddenly, Kimiko remembered the dreams that she had been having about him and she began to tell him…. “Lately I have been having some very strange dreams about random things like vampires. ” Kimiko looked closely at his face to see how his face expression would turn out but Yukio managed to give back an expressionless face.
Kimiko steady carried on her conversation saying. “Well I don’t know how to put this in words but I keep having dreams of this boy our age, and I seem to have completely fallen for him. I know it seems really stupid but I think he’s a vampire. But he looks so much like you. ” Yukio’s eyes widened, he looked shocked. His face expressions read either as what the hell was happening or he looked as if he thought she was going absolutely insane. All of a sudden without a word Yukio, left the canteen. He didn’t even say anything. He left without a goodbye or if even telling Kimiko where he was going.
Kimiko seemed very confused she steadily tried to run after him she secretly stalked him all the way to the back gates of the school. Kimiko kept a close eye on him making sure not to lose track of him. There they were standing; Yukio had come to a sudden halt. He was standing with his back to her, He suddenly said, “I knew you would follow me here. ” She looked confusedly at him, “Well obviously, I just told you something that kept troubling me and all you did was just walk away from me. ” Yukio began to slowly turn around and face Kimiko, so they were facing each other.
Yukio replied, “I know what was troubling you in that dream. She looked up at him confused, “I don’t understand what you mean? ” Kimiko replied confusedly. “It was me I was that boy in your dream,” He said confidently. Kimiko looked confused and she began to back away, slowly step by step, she began to tilt her head backwards. It began to rain slowly Kimiko could feel the raindrops fall down her cheeks. The rain was slowly beginning to pour down harder and faster she felt the cold wet drops hit her pale red cheeks. Yukio kept his eyes fixed on her, he slowly whispered, “It was me who was in your room that night, I was watching you lie there sleeping.
The bruise on your neck it was by me . I came over to you then I rested my head gently against yours, then it happened. ” Kimiko stopped walking backwards instead she began to trace the place where her bruise was. She felt the lump on her neck; she could feel the marks of where his teeth had indented into her skin. Kimiko began to feel dizzy. Her heart started pounding vigorously and her legs began to ache, all she could retrace in her head was the words that came out of Yukio’s mouth “It was me”. Everything began to go black. Kimiko hurried back to her house to lie down on her bed.
Kimiko woke up to the noise of the sound of doors banging. She thought she was asleep in her own bed until she felt how the bed was very empty. She looked up at what the time was, she thought it was weird how the clock looked different and it was on the wrong side of the room. Suddenly her eyes widened she looked around and realised that this was her own house to her relief. Kimiko’s legs were still hurting but this time the pain was worse and her head was throbbing really badly. Kimiko turned her head sideward’s and looked at the room she had felt awkward.
Kimiko began to feel very scared and confused about what had happened. Kimiko could hear sound of what was happening down stairs she slowly made her way step by step she crept down the steps until she reached the bottom. To her surprise, it was Yukio he was standing there with a cup of coffee in his hands had he was slowly sipping it down carefully. Kimiko questioned him about what had happened he said that she must have been when they were by the school gates. Everything began to make sense to Kimiko about what was happening she remembered what had happened at the gates and what he had said.
But she just stood there still hoping she could just vanish quickly away. Yukio approached her, “I want you to know that I won’t hurt you, I know you can figure out what I mean. ” Kimiko bit her lip and began to twiddle her thumbs she replied, “So you are a vampire? ” Yukio reassuring said, “Yes I am but look at me and look at the boy in the dream we are the same person, but I promise will won’t ever hurt you. ” He started to tell her how much loves her and he thought that she was different from everybody else. Kimiko said, “I know you won’t hurt me in dreams I have about you.
I see you in my dreams and you love me with so much affection, you can connect with me easily not like anyone else can. Yukio smiled at her his eyes met hers and they stared at each other for a few moments his breathing started to become faster and Kimiko began to walk towards him. Kimiko broke the silence, “I want you to stay away from me even if I love you so much it’s not safe . I don’t belong here with you. I’m human and you’re dangerous. Yukio looked at her shocked, I promised you I wouldn’t ever hurt you, a promise that I will never break. Yukio became upset and tears began to trickle from his eyes.
But before he could say anything she told him to go home. Yukio left her house gently closing the door behind him. Yukio was gone without a trace, he would leave her. She didn’t want anything to do with him then he was going to just disappear from her life. He was going to make sure it would be as it he had never existed to Kimiko. If she thought he was too dangerous, it showed him that she never trusted his words so he would be gone far away from her. 1 month later… Kimiko woke up in her bedrooms as soon as her alarm clock went off; the trees were swaying gently along with the breeze. It was a warm and calming day.
The sun was giving a radiant glow of yellow and golden beams The Sea was calm and steady rippling its waves steady to and fro with the help of the slight breeze of wind. Kimiko couldn’t believe it see had been missing Yukio for so long it felt to her that one month had felt like one year of being away from Yukio. She couldn’t even find him he had just gone away forever. She wanted him back in her life. Kimiko regretted leaving him and telling him to just go away because he was too dangerous. Kimiko needed him she wanted to see him just once. All she had of him were the images of him in her thoughts.
Kimiko had thought that moving on from him would be easy but she was wrong. Endless doubts began to run through her head. Days had passed and she was unable to move on she couldn’t do anything without him. Maybe he did forget her, but for Kimiko there was no day that passed by that she didn’t think of him. So many unanswered questions ran through her head. He didn’t even come to college so she couldn’t even contact him. Kimiko spent ages after lessons hoping to find him. She also spent time trying to get to college early to find him. But most of the time Kimiko just found herself lingering down the corridors trying to look for him.
She finally decided she was going to find him. Kimiko stood outside his house, which she remembered that this was the house he was telling her about a while ago. Yukio’s house stood their right in front of her it was a very big grand house with very large gates. Kimiko made her way opening the gates. She went towards the large wooden door she silently stood in front of the door and then she closed her eyes and prayed that he would be inside. She got her right arm and the placed her finger upon the doorbell. Then she pressed it twice then after a while for the third time.
She could hear footsteps coming toward the door. She could hear someone unlocking it from the inside. The door flew open… “Yukio! ” She screamed as soon as she saw his face she quickly wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. He brought his hands towards her waist and wrapped his arms snug around her waist bringing her more closer to him. They both looked up at one other, still encased in each other’s arms. There he was staring at her deep crimson coloured eyes he reached his lips downwards where they met hers and then he quickly pulled away and she gave him caring smile at him.
Yukio whispered softly down her ears, “I knew you would come back all you needed was time and I gave you it. ” Kimiko replied “I’ve left you. Which was the biggest mistake of my life? Now I want you and you. ” Yukio whispered into her ear, “When I was alone, I just looked at the spaces between my fingers and remembered that in those spaces. I could see my fingers locked with yours forever. ” As Yukio said this, a single tear ran down Kimiko’s cheek, she looked to him for comfort, and all he held her more closely to him. And she said, “I love you, I love you, Yukio. “
